simply sash: servicing and repairs
Standard Servicing:
A fully serviced window will open and close properly and should not need any further attention (other than periodic painting and decoration) for up to 15 years. Typically the reasons you would have your sash windows serviced are because:
- They don't open and close easily
- They are painted shut
- A cord is broken
- They wont stay open or shut because they have the wrong weight
- They rattle and make a noise
- You need to change a piece of glass
It is important to get the top sash working because you can create an air movement that will clean and refresh the air within your home and help control condensation. You can also ventilate without draughts at low levels.
A standard Lower Standard Service starts from only £79.99* (+ vat) and includes strip down and set up of the lower sash with new cords.
A full Standard Service starts from only £99.99* (excluding
VAT) per window and includes complete strip down
and set up of the upper and lower sashes with new cords.
* for windows up to 1500m; cost excludes any replacement beading and 'add
weight' required to reset counter balance. Click here for Draught Reduction Service options Draught

Sill Replacement
We offer a full (hardwood) sill replacement service from
£180.00 (plus 20% VAT).
We carry out a full traditional hardwood sill replacement which has a
significantly longer life than a centre section replacement. All timber
sections with rot are removed and replaced.
Except in special circumstances where the rot is isolated in the centre of the sill we do not generally recommend a centre section replacement because it is not possible to access and cut out the rot from the inner face of the window. Rot spores in this area will continue to attack any new timber making it a relatively short term repair. Please call to discuss your requirements.
Replacement Sashes
Whilst we follow conservation principles and only do what is necessary to
make your windows structurally sound and functional, from time to time it
is necessary to replace a rotten sash.
We can provide new glazed sashes supplied either primed or
glossed from only £198.00 each
